Carin Cisneros Buckel

Carin Patrice Cisneros Buckel, 56, of Whittier, CA, died peacefully on May 23, 2021, surrounded by her devoted husband Larry and loving mother Melinda.

Carin was born May 11, 1965, in Long Beach, CA.  She attended St. Linus Catholic School and graduated from Esperanza High School.  Carin earned a BA in Italian from UCLA.  While there, she was very active in the Rally Committee (Go Bruins!) and made many lifelong friends.  She continued her education and graduated with an MA from the University of San Francisco in Catholic Educational Leadership, and most recently attended San Jose State University in pursuit of a Master’s in Library and Information Science.

Carin was truly passionate about education and committed her life to teaching.  She taught in Catholic schools from K to 6^th grade.  Her proudest and most meaningful work was done as Principal of St. Matthias and St. Rose of Lima Catholic Schools.  Carin touched many lives in her years as a dedicated educator, and was blessed to have stayed in contact with many of her former students.

In her spare time, Carin enjoyed reading, traveling with Larry, crocheting, collecting antiques, and was a former President of the Whittier Junior Woman’s Club.  Her faith, helping others in need, and love of family and friends are what filled her heart most.

Carin was preceded in death by her father Albert David Cisneros and her stepfather Robert “Bobby” Bedolla.

She is survived by her husband Lawrence Edward Buckel, her mother Melinda Renteria Bedolla, stepmother Colene J. Cisneros, brother Christopher David Cisneros, niece and nephew Denise and James Buckel, and stepbrothers and stepsisters Robert J. Bedolla, Anthony P. Bedolla, Yvonne Bedolla Bagnell and Brigitte Marie Bedolla.
