"The Songs of John P. Loya's Life"
John P. Loya was "Born in the USA" on August 12, 1963 and he passed peacefully while sleeping in his childhood home in Whittier, California on January 1, 2022 at the age of 5, "Only the Good Die Young"! John is survived by his "Everlasting Love" and wife Gloria, daughter Nicole, step-son Jacob, sister Josie, brother in law Sal, and nieces & nephews.
John's love for life was evident in everything he did. He truly "Live Like You are Dying" everyday of his life. When he wanted to see someone in concert, he never hesitated and would invite friends along the way, he went "With or Without You".
He was an Army Veteran, stationed in Germany in the early 80's. He was the only Mexican we knew that didn't speak Spanish, but came home fluent in German. He fell in love with the country, language and the song "99 Luftballons". One of his lifelong friends and even a best man at his wedding was from Germany, we all came to know his as Uncle Bernd.
When you thin of John, the first things that pop into your mind are music, concerts and sports. In fact, he seemed to take many people to their first concert or sporting event. He knew every song, word for word and who they were performed by. The biggest thing EVERYONE knew was how he was a lifelong Raider fan. When "The Autumn Wind" blew, he bled silver & black and you could always hear him blasting "We Are the Champions"!
Some may no know that John was a writer. He wrote poems and gifted them to his friends and family. He had "A Whole Lota Love" for kids and mentored some along the way. He had nicknames given to him by the kids at school like, Robocop.
John may be apart from us, but now he is in "Heaven" and will always be near. Every "Sunrise" will remind us of his time here on Earth. He loved the Lord and now knows the embrace of his Savior.
