Matilde was born in Durango, Mexico and at the age of 73 he passed away in Downey, California. Matilde was survived by his loving wife Socorro, children Robert, Mario, Omar, Sandra and Jessica, 10 grandchildren, and his siblings Jesus Martinez, Pablo Saucedo, Arturo Sauced, Maria Herrera, Esperanza Fragoso, and Blanca Saucedo.
