Thelma Joan Peters

Thelma Joan Peters, 93, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother joined the love of her life in heaven on Monday, Sept. 2. A resident of Lakewood, CA for more than 50 years, she enjoyed breezy afternoons cheering on her Angels, completing insanely difficult crossword puzzles and getting lost in any book she could find – activities she found to be even better if done so with a cold Diet Pepsi. However, nothing made her happier than her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were all blessed by her fierce love and immense pride. When the family was together, her lap was often occupied by a little one but she made everyone in the room feel like they were most important to her. From heaven she will continue to watch over Carolyn (Miller) Janet (Mele), Edward and Mark, their respective spouses Robert, Sal, Karen and Cathy, her 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Though her presence here will be greatly missed she goes to her eternal home where her husband Edward, parents Maurice and Margaret, brothers Buck and Pete and the many family members and friends who went before her welcome her with joy. Thelma's favorite charity was St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
